What is FilmFest?

A companion for going to a film festival. The whole programme in one place, a schedule you build by tapping +, a diary of what you saw, a shared board showing how long the rush lines are, and — at the end — a ranking and a Wrapped you can post. It’s currently built around TIFF ’26.

Is it official?

No. FilmFest is independent and is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the Toronto International Film Festival Inc. The programme is copied from tiff.net; tickets, times and everything official live there.

Does it cost anything?

Nothing. No subscription, no ads, no trackers, no analytics SDK in the app.

Do I have to sign in?

Only if you want your festival on more than one device. Without an account everything still works and stays on the device you’re using. Sign in — with Apple or Google in the app, and those or Reddit on the website — and your diary, schedule, ranking and votes follow you between your phone and the web. Voting needs an account, so each person votes once.

How do the rush lines work?

Rush counts come from other festivalgoers, not from the venue. When you’re in a line, open the screening and post how many people are ahead of you. Everyone watching that screening sees the count, and if you allowed location, where the line reaches on the map. Afterwards you can say whether you got in, which is what the odds on each screening are built from. Counts disappear after twelve hours.

They’re a hint, never a promise. People miscount, and a line can double in ten minutes.

A showtime looks wrong.

The programme is a snapshot, captured on the date in the footer, and the festival does move things. Always confirm on tiff.net before you buy a ticket. Tell us and we’ll refresh it.

What is the audience vote?

A bit of fun: one pick per category — best of the fest, Midnight Madness, documentary, shorts and the rest — changeable until the festival ends, with live standings everyone can see. It has nothing to do with the festival’s own awards.

Where does the film information come from?

Showtimes, venues and synopses from tiff.net. Posters, runtimes and directors from TMDB. Each film also links out to Letterboxd if you’d rather log and review it there.

Can I get my diary into Letterboxd?

Yes — the diary screen exports a CSV in Letterboxd’s import format, with your dates and ratings. Individual films link straight to their Letterboxd page too.

What is Wrapped?

When the festival ends, your diary turns into a short video: how many films, how many hours, which venues, your top three. You can save it to your photos and post it.

What happens to my data?

Short version: we don’t sell it, we don’t track you, and there’s no advertising anything in the build. Rush posts are anonymous. The long version is the privacy policy.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the app and what it kept on your phone goes with it. To close an account, do it yourself: in the app, Settings → Account → Delete account; on the website, the avatar in the top bar → Delete account. The account and your diary, schedule, ranking and votes are gone straight away, and there is no undo.
